On February 4th, 2012 the Law of Ukraine “On Privatization Program” 4335-VI came into force. The Document was prepared by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine in 2011, adopted by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on January 13th, 2012 and then signed by the President of Ukraine finally.

The Document provides for Privatization Program on 2012-2014 containing three stages and stipulates that the Privatization, called Socio-Economic Project in the Law, must be finished in Ukraine by the end of the year 2014.

We consider it as a positive move giving national and domestic business additional opportunities to develop their investment activities in Ukraine.

At the same time the Law of Ukraine “On Amending Certain Legislative Acts of Ukraine regarding Implementation of Privatization Program on 2012-2014” became effective. The Document changes the key Law “On Privatization of State Property”. As a result currently the Law on Privatization regulates issues which were formerly provided by the Privatization Program on 2000-2002.
